Last year I was planning to visit Wemyss Bay station (above), probably the finest on the UK network, and about 50 other coastal railway stations in just two weeks but every train in my schedule was standard class only.
There are two classes of travel: First class and With children.
I do enjoy first class in my advancing years. More comfort, more space, air conditioning and quieter.
My daughter suggested looking into the possibility of a 'luxury' tour, just using trains with first class accommodation. That's how this tour came to be.
Every train outside London that I'll use has first class accommodation. I will stay in hotels close to the railway station of 5 cities: Taunton (TAU), Birmingham (BHM), Manchester (MAN), Edinburgh (EDB) and Leeds (LDS). From these cities I will take day trips, mostly over 2hrs each way, to places for lunch.
Remember: This tour is NOT about the places visited but UK rail travel in comfort and style
I start on Monday 9th of June, so let's see how it goes...
