Although the same physical building it took me 15min from my room to the departure gates, then another 5min to get to platform 11b.

There are at least 2 pubs in Leeds station, The Beer House and... Wetherspoons. I found an entrance to my hotel inside the station, almost directly opposite Wetherspoons. I must try that entrance when I return this evening

Train left on time and arrived Hull a minute early. The nearest pub to the station is in fact a hotel: The Admiral of the Humber, a Wetherspoons no less. It's packed because its lunchtime but I found a table when a family left. So it's a pint and fish and chips for under £8.

Just made the return train - it started moving before I sat down. This time I got some photos of the Humber bridge when we passed it.

Am returning to Leeds early, will arrive 3pm, so I'll look into going on another trip this afternoon. The hotel entrance in the station saves nearly 5 minutes. Having reached my room I realise how tired I am, I feel as though I could sleep for a week.
What surprises me is that I never saw any of Hulls white telephone boxes.
Still undecided about tomorrow: Liverpool as planned or maybe Redcar?
