 With further advice from Tim I wont go to Poole but change trains at Winchester (WIN) for lunch at Eastleigh (ESL) where there's a pub right beside the station.

After an hour there, just so I've done all of the BHM to Bournemouth (BMH) line I'll continue on to BMH changing at Southampton (SOU). Then get the train back to BHM arriving by 7pm, an hour later than originally planned.

N.B. Even with all these late alterations to my itinerary, every train has first class accommodation.
